U2 PS™

PTG fixed-bearing posterior stabilised

The U2 Knee™ System, designed by the UNITED ORTHOPEDIC CORPORATION (UOC), is a complete range of 1st line treatment PTGs: Fixed and mobile CR, fixed and mobile PS and PSA revision with constrained insert.

The fixed tibial baseplate is commonly used in fixed cruciate-retaining (U2 CMA™) and posterior stabilised (U2 PS™) fixed inserts.

The mobile tibial baseplate is commonly used in cruciate-retaining (U2 MBC™) and posterior stabilised (U2 MB™) mobile inserts

Description

The PTG U2 PS™ is a fixed-bearing posterior stabilised femoral prosthesis with a fixed PS insert.

The posterior stabilised femur has a multi-radius design with a “patella friendly” trochlear groove that promotes flexion and stability.

The CMA tibial baseplate provides the option of adding a short pin and tibial wedges.

Fémur PS

  • 7 sizes for the right and left

  • CrCoMo cementing version
  • Distal and posterior thicknesses of 9mm
  • Multi-radius design
  • The deep and wide trochlear groove promotes stable patellar rolling of a natural or prosthetic patella
  • Flexion of up to 155°

  • ‘Rounded’ cage reduces wear on the stud

  • Simple bone cage to help prevent a condylar fracture

  • Identical cage width for all sizes
  • 0° posterior cut
  • 5° anterior cut

Fixed tibia

  • 7 symmetrical sizes
  • Titanium alloy for cementing (TiAl6V4)
  • Possibility of retaining or sacrificing PCL
  • Smooth surface without holes to eliminate wear of the wedge screws

  • 3 versions: monobloc (CM), modular (CMA) and modular non-cemented
CM monobloc CMA modular modular non-cemented
  • Modular version with pin and wedges (CMA)
30 mm length 5 mm and 10 mm thickness

Fixed PS insert

  • 5° posterior slope induced in the insert

  • Thickness: 9, 11, 13, 15 and 18 mm
  • UHMWPE
  • Rounded forward stud:
    • Reduces conflict between the cam and the insert in I/E rotation

  • Decreases PE wear and tear
  • 155° ROM and stud height of 15.5 mm
