The resulting vibration will loosen the integrity of taper locked interface between the ceramic liner and the cup. Then the ceramic liner can be lifted out of the acetabular cup by using Ceramic Liner Holder . Appendix : Liner Extraction Instruments XPE & E-XPE Liner Removal Utilize a Straight Drill combined with the drill guide to drill an eccentric hole in the polyethylene liner. Using a Hex-driver , a cancellous screw is then advanced into the drilled hole until dislodgement of the polyethylene liner from the acetabular cup is achieved.
